Plasma Blaster

Here is a 3D modeled Scifi gun or "Plasma Blaster" I made for fun over the weekend. As a big fan of Ratchet and Clank, I wanted to model something similar to the cool gadgets and weapons as seen in the games. I didn't really have a specific concept in mind, and I approached the design with an open mind and mostly went with the flow. I took some reference from Ratchet and Clank concept art, and it was cool to take a closer look at some designs I had loved since my childhood PS2 era. I modeled and rendered everything in Blender and used Substance Painter for the materials. You can take a closer look at the process from the progression screenshots.

"The Plasma Blaster (Mark-II) functions by generating superheated plasma within its chamber. This plasma is then magnetically compressed and accelerated through the blaster's barrel using electromagnetic technology. The weapon's onboard targeting system ensures precision, and upon impact, the plasma discharges its extreme energy, causing devastating damage to the target. A sophisticated cooling system prevents overheating, allowing for rapid consecutive shots."
